The thesis of this speech is about President Obama talking about school and how the young generation must study hard and try in order to succeed. He explains that parents, teachers, and adults have a responsibility to assist us when we need help, but we also must be responsible to study and try our best.
ReplyDeleteI believe the three most important words in the speech are #1: Education, #2: Responsibility and #3: School. I believe these words are the most important words because they are repeated many times during the speech and all three words are connected to the main idea of what President Obama is trying to convey.
I believe the challenges of my generation are school budget cuts and global warming. There are many budget cuts in our New York City education system. With a countless number of budget cuts, schools are forced to cut out many fun events, supplies, and a lot of other activities that were originally provided to students. For example, CIG students in our school lost zero period this year. It is now incorporated into the regular school day, and therefore, we have lost a period a day that was originally for another class, such as computers or music. I have no computer classes this year which I feel is a travesty. Global warming is also a problem many of us are facing. Global warming has changed our Earth and is still changing it now. Some examples are the polar ice caps melting and the temperature increasing and decreasing in unusual patterns. Global warming is a big issue because it is harmful to humans, nature, and to the Earth.
President, Barack Hussein Obama, created a very persuasive speech about urging students to stay and succeed in school and life. He shows us to decline the decision of cutting or dropping school. President Obama talked about our education and what's expected of all of us children in this new school year. School is a master of life. You cannot do almost anything with school diploma or any degree or honors in school. You couldn’t get a well-done job that will help you raise your family and have a good reputation, so people do not talk about you in the wrong way. As the President says, “Don't ever give up on yourself, because when you give up on yourself, you give up on your country”.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the three most important words in this amazing speech made every student in the U.S.A. really reflect on this speech. The first word is responsibility. You have to be responsible on your absences in school, homework, projects and your general responsibilities in the nature of school. The second word is determination. If you are not determined to succeed in school, you will never get to the point in life where you want to be because determination brings success, not failure. The last word that I thought was important in this speech was environment. If students around the U.S.A. are not learning in a safe environment, the subjects you’ll learn about will not go through your brain. This is because certain obstacles are stopping us from doing well in school. Our job is to say, “No,” to those obstacles and continue our journey in school.
The challenges of our generation are immense. We need to focus on how to make a difference and make our world a better place and environment to live in. People from 250 years ago did more then we are doing right now. These people went on to fight a revolution and they founded this nation. Even people who won a world war, civil rights, putting Neil Armstrong on the moon and fighting through a depression 75 years ago we think are heroes today. 20 years ago people found out different ways to communicate with each other. This doesn’t mean that the president that comes in 20-100 years will not look back at us and say that we didn’t do anything to save the world and our country. It’s not too late to cure different diseases, such as cancers and aids. Global warming is also a great factor of the world that is in danger. Never give up on yourself because then your giving up on your country and most importantly, yourself!
I think the thesis of this speech is about how it’s important for students of all ages to try their best in school. President Barack Obama emphasizes how we all have something we’re good at. He talks about how we are responsible for our future, and that only we can make it the way we want to be.
ReplyDelete1) You, 2) Responsibility, 3) Difference. I think these are the most important words in Obama’s speech. It’s your RESPONSIBILITY to do well and succeed in school, not someone else’s. If you work hard now, it can make a big DIFFERENCE in the future.
One of the challenges in my generation is the recent budget cuts in the New York school system. Because of the budget cuts, schools are forced to stop paying for art and music classes. I find this very unfortunate for both the students and the teachers who teach these classes. These are two classes where students get to express their creative side; so what if it’s not a major subject? It’s still two very important subjects children should learn. Also, schools are unable to pay for certain supplies for the students. Certain events like carnivals and school dances are cancelled because schools cannot afford to waste money on them. CIG students in Cunningham Junior High cannot participate in the John Hopkins math program; another result of the school budget cuts.
Another challenge in my generation is the behavior of students in school. Some students lack motivation, and participation in class. They rarely do homework or projects, and they barely study. When they receive poor marks, they think of it as “no big deal.” What’s worse is that some of the parents don’t even care about the grades their children get, good or bad. Students nowadays often ditch school. They also lack school spirit and get sent to the Dean’s office a lot.
President Obama made a speech for every student in the United States. His thesis was to tell children to stay in school, work hard and by doing so you will have a good job. I think that is important that the president is making a speech to the kids of America because some children are not motivated to go to school, but if the president says something people realize how important it really is. Another purpose for the speech is to tell kids that other people are suffering and if you are going through tough times it is good to know that you’re not alone. If the president says it after all he’s been through it will make some kids feel better. It is important that every child in America has a good education and this speech addresses that.
ReplyDeleteThere are 3 important words in this speech responsibility, focusing, and talents. In the speech Obama talks about responsibility a lot. I think that it is the most important word in the speech. Responsibility is important key to success, you have to be accountable for your actions if you do something wrong. You have to be responsible and do your homework. Focusing is also another important word in the speech. You need to focus on your work while in school and not fool around. Obama says that when he was in school he didn’t always focus and his life could have been turned in the wrong direction if he wasn’t focused and motivated. The last word is talents. Obama believes that everyone has their own talents and purpose to the world.
There are many challenges in my generation: global warming, too much technology and the recession. Global warming is affecting everyone. In order to live on this planet we need to take care of it and if we don’t the planet will die and so will we. Some people litter and don’t care but it is definitely becoming a big issue. Too much technology is also a bad thing especially for young people. Many kids spend too much time watching television or going on the computer for too long. This is bad because while watching television you’re not exercising your sitting there. This is one of the leading causes in obesity. Also playing on the computer causes you to forget to do your homework this isn’t good either. Sometimes I do this myself and realize I have spent 4 hours on a computer. The last thing is the recession. Many children’s parents are losing jobs and it is upsetting for kids.
President Barack Obama made a very persuasive speech to kids. I believe that the thesis of his speech was that students must work hard in order to have a successful future. He explains the responsibilities that students of all ages have to work hard in school, so that their future will be bright. President Obama talks about how no one can have a successful career without an education. Our generation is the future. We need to work hard so our lives won’t be boring, we will have interesting jobs and we can keep the country in tact. President Obama also talks about the responsibility of parents to help us with homework, the responsibilities of teachers to make sure we understand what is being taught to us. None of that will matter unless we, the students, work hard and try to aim high.
ReplyDeleteIn this brilliant speech there are three words that really stood out to me; I thought were the most important words in this speech. They are responsibility, education and difference. Responsibility is an important word in this speech because it is our responsibility to work hard in school, so we will succeed in the future. We have to get a good education, so that we will go to college and get a job in the future. We are the future, so how we study and how we work now will make a big difference in America’s future and our own future. We need to achieve as high as we possibly can.
There are many challenges for our generation. I think the main one is the school budget cuts. They are affecting so many students, if not every. Non-major subjects are being cut, such as art and music classes. If they aren’t being cut, then there is not enough funding for the supplies needed. Last year, I remember there was a protest outside Town Hall. Students were there with signs that said “My art class has no paper” or “My music class has no sheet music.” The CIG students in Cunningham cannot participate in the John Hopkins math program. Schools cannot fund fun things like school dances or other events. Another challenge in my generation is that some students lack motivation and they do not try their hardest in school. As a result of that, they do not get good grades. There are some students that don’t have the luxury of their parents’ help with homework or help them study for a test. That holds them back. By not getting good grades, they try to stand out in a different way; they get in trouble. A lot of students these days are getting detention or they are being sent to the dean’s office. Students need to work hard so that they get a good education, and a good education makes for a great future.

ReplyDeleteThe thesis of this speech is to persuade kids to stay in school and to try their best at it. In this speech Barrack Obama explains how you cannot just try something for the first time and be good at it. You have to keep trying and practicing until you get it and not give up. He says that having family problems (For example, one of your parents leaving you while you’re young) is no excuse to not do your homework.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the three most important words in the speech are believe, education, and learning. I picked these words because 1. You need to believe in yourself if you want to do well. 2. If you want to get a good job and be successful than you have to get a good education. 3. If you want to succeed in school than you have to learn many things. These 3 things are vital in life.
There are many challenges in my generation. Those of us who will become doctors are expected to revolutionize the world of medicine and to find cures for diseases like cancer and AIDS. Those of us will become scientists are expected to create nanobots and different ways to help us without the need of surgery, etc. So basically we are expected to make the world a much better place to live in for everyone.
I think the thesis of this speech is to tell students how important school is in their lives. Obama said that we are the young generation and we must study hard to succeed. He also mentioned how the teachers, parents, and adults can help us and assist us to succeed but we must also study hard too. So if we study hard, we will become successful.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the three most important words in the speech were education, school, and responsibility. He mentioned each of those words many times during his speech. I believe that those words because I need an education, have to go to school, and need to be responsible. I think that is what president Obama was trying to say.
I believe the challenges in my generation are the cuts in school money and the economy. The cuts in school money are bad because the students have fewer supplies, books, and many more things. There used to be a program for CIG called zero period where the CIG kids did extra math but because of budget cuts we don’t have it this year. Now there is just more math during the day instead of early in the morning. So we lose other classes because of that. Another concern would be the economy. Due to the economy we got budget cuts. People are also getting fired and it is getting harder to get a job. If this keeps up, what will the students do for a job? If the economy keeps going down, the people of the future may not get jobs. So the economy need to improve.
President Barack Obama addressed the nation in a televised speech at Virginia High School in early September. President Obama specifically talks to all the students in the United States, to do our best and only our best. He says "You'll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS." To achieve what we want to be, we must try first and practice over and over again. If we have dreams for a specific goal and we end up being something else, that means we have found something else that interests you.
ReplyDeleteThe three, emphasized words that I found most important in the speech were 1: dedication , 2: inspiration , and 3: support. I agree that these are the good characteristics of a great student. To be dedicated, one should have a clear goal of what they want to do and work hard towards it. To be inspired, is to search for new ideas, a role model to follow and be skeptical of .To be supportive, we will lend a hand to those who need it and seek help for ourselves when we need them. That is help from our teachers and parents.
One challenge that we face right now is lack of motivation to achieve and low school spirit. Some students tend to slack off. They are easily satisfied with doing the minimum or barely meeting the standards. They are not actively participating in or outside of the school. Another challenge that we face in our generation is staying health. Students are absent from school because of illnesses. They do not take care of themselves the way they are supposed to. A healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle will benefit us for life.
The thesis of President Obama’s speech is to try to encourage students of all ages to try their best in school. He explained to the students that you can’t have a good career without having a good education. He made it very clear that education comes first. He says that even if you have something going on at home that can distract you from your work can not be considered an excuse for not paying attention and not doing your work. He had been trying to better the education for all students but even with all this help and encouragement, nothing will pay off unless you cooperate and try your best. He says that if we give up on education, we give up on the country. When we drop out of school, we not only worsen the future for ourselves, but for others around us.
ReplyDeleteIn this speech, there are three very important words. The first word is responsibility. This word may not be used as often as others, but it adds a large quantity of meaning to the speech. When President Obama talks about our responsibility, he means that we are the generation that is responsible for the future of this country. We will be the ones held responsible if the economy rises or lowers. The weight of the future rests on our shoulders. The second word is education. This word is seen and heard throughout the whole speech. It ties in with the word responsibility. Our generation needs education if we are to fulfill our responsibilities. Education is one of the building blocks of our nation. Without , we would be nothing. That is why education is an important word and and important part of the speech. The third word would be determination. When you are determined to do something, then you have a huge chance of succeeding. Without determination in school, then you can’t succeed. Determination is a huge part of education and responsibility.
There are many challenges for our generation. I believe that the biggest challenge is the budget cuts. Due to the fact that the economy is suffering, budget cuts are being made all over the country. There are budget cuts for schools, hospitals, etc... For example, the school LaGuardia is not funded so parents and students have to make hundreds of donations each year. There are huge budget cuts for hospitals. For example, in Queens, there are 3 major hospitals. 2 of the hospitals were closed down and now, the people that work in that one hospital work longer because there is no where else to go. This is the largest challenge for our generation in my opinion.

ReplyDeletePresident Obama had created a powerful speech that urged children to stay in school and do their very best. He repeatedly told students that they cannot succeed in life unless they work hard and never give up. Almost every job in the USA and even the world requires an education. But not just an education, also a good education. President Obama pointed out that many of the leaders we have in our world today worked for 10-20 years before they were noticed for their greatness. We are no exception. We all have a responsibility to our country, our parents and to ourselves to study hard and set a good example for the generations to come. School is one of the many challenges we will have to overcome to reach our goal. That is why President Obama used some events that were in his life to demonstrate the importance of staying in school and doing our best.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the three most important words in President Obama’s speech were (1) Responsibility (2) Challenge (3) Education. The President talks a lot about the responsibility as a student, the responsibility of a teacher and the responsibility of a parent. It is the student’s responsibility to do the work he or she is assigned. If the student doesn’t do the work, then how can he or she expect to succeed in life? However the teachers and parents must encourage, support and push the student to do the work so he or she will have a better chance at success in life. The second word I chose was “challenge” because every student faces at least one in their life. It could be about a problem with their family’s health, the amount of money the family has, a problem with the students health, or maybe just not enough support from the family. Whatever the challenge is, it is our duty to overcome it as a student and rise to the top. If we don’t rise to the challenge, we won’t be able to reach our goal in life. The third word I chose was education. Education was what Obama’s speech was about. We need a good education to achieve our goals and it won’t be easy. Learning is a part of our growth and the more we know, the better our lives will be. It might be hard at first but the education that we got when we were younger will benefit us in the future. Each word I had chosen is intertwined with the other. It is our responsibility to overcome each challenge we are faced with and get a good education so we can rise to the top.
I believe the challenges our generation is faced with right now are the number of distractions kids experience from different games systems, computer games, and watching TV. Because the world is getting more technologically advanced it is preventing kids from doing their homework and exercising daily. Considering the state of the economy, it may be more of a challenge to get a good job in the future. The job market is and will become more competitive and the people with the most and best education will have a better change at succeeding.
Key to a Better World
ReplyDeleteThe thesis of Barack Obama’s presidential pep talk is that all American students must stay in school. The purpose of school is to educate students in order for them to have a bright future and solve many current challenges. In the speech, Obama persuasively tells students that it’s mandatory to try their best no matter how difficult the challenges in their life are. Children must never slack off in school because everyone is good at something, and until they actively participate in class they might never discover their special talent. Students have a responsibility to pay attention to teachers, listen to guardians and other adults, and work hard in order to succeed in reaching educational goals. Obama urges American children never to give up in reaching their educational goals because if they don’t strive for them they’re letting themselves and their country down. America’s progress completely relies on today’s generation to develop their minds as much as they can. Obama expects all American students to take responsibility for their lives, education, and never be afraid to ask for help when they need it.
All of the words in Obama’s speech are important, but three words are the most outstanding. They are “responsibility”, “goals”, and “try”. Obama uses the word “responsibility” the most. He believes that American children have many educational responsibilities, and without completing those responsibilities children can’t get far in their lives. They will be incapable of making change in the world. The next most used word is “goals”. Obama feels that by fulfilling goals one achieves something new and important in one’s life. These goals are building blocks and the foundation of the world’s future. The third most important word in Obama’s speech is “try”. He believes that in order to succeed in anything, you must try your best. There is no excuse for not trying your best because everyone is capable of doing it.
In today’s generation there are many challenges. Some challenges in today’s day are finding cures for many diseases such as cancer and AIDS,keeping the economy in good shape, preventing children from slacking off in school, fighting poverty and homelessness, preventing discrimination and crime, protecting our environment and inventing new energy technology in a fight to end global warming, and preventing drug and alcohol abuse. I don’t believe that one of these issues is more important than the others because they all play an equal role in making the world a worse place to live in. All of these issues are extremely hard to solve. For many years many people pondered upon how to solve these problems, but no one came up with very sufficient ideas. It’s time for students to take school seriously because education is the key for a better world without these issues.

ReplyDeleteThe thesis of this speech is about students' education. Our president, Barack Obama, made it clear that it is the teachers', principal's, parents', guardians', and government's responsibility to help us, the students, to reach our high standards. He made us believe that those students who will study hard will be more successful in life than those who failed or didn't give their best in school. But it is also our responsibility to make sure that we focus on our schoolwork and do our homework.
ReplyDeleteI think that the three most important words are (1) Responsibility, (2) Education, and (3) School. These were the three most important words to me because they all are connected to the thesis of the speech.
I believe that laziness is the main challenge of my generation due to new technology, such as computers, televisions, game systems, etc. Students get strongly attached and they spend so much time watching and playing, that they barely focus on their homework and schoolwork. Some of the blame can be because of the dropping economy and school budget cuts. The schools cannot afford as many things as they did before. For example, our school had a computer lab and there always was a computer cart with laptops in it, but since the economy has changed, the laptops were removed and there no longer was a computer lab, just a room.
1. There are a few main ideas to this speech. President Obama is expressing how school was difficult for him as a child, and that he understands that it can be difficult for many students at this time. President Obama is also reassuring nervous students that are starting kindergarten, middle school, and high school. Most of all, he stresses that the only way to get anywhere in life is to work hard and do well in school.
ReplyDelete2. Responsibility was the most important word because it was the main topic in many important statements. Future was the second most important word because President Obama said multiple times how doing well in school would affect a student’s future. Adjusting was the third most important word because Obama talked about students having to transition from summer to school, or from school to school.
3. There are many challenges for my generation. We have to do well in school and stay out of trouble. We must listen to our parents and be responsible for our hygiene. We must be environmentally conscious considering today’s circumstances. Those are just a few of the challenges that my generation faces.
President Obama did a very good job on this speech, for it definitely made me listen. He stated the importance of all student's educations, explained why we need it and why it is crucial to do good in school these days. Life is becoming harder and harder, but we can change that. With the proper education, all children of the world can grow up and make a difference, one by one, and President Obama is expressing this statement in this speech. He's persuading students to stay in school and work hard, it'll definitely pay off in the future.
ReplyDeleteThis speech holds many words that really made me think deep about how important my education truly is, but if I would have to narrow it down to only 3 words, I'd have to say they were responsibility, destiny and successful. Responsibility is a word I heard a lot during this speech, and I understand why it was expressed so many times. Our homework, absences and study habits are all our responsibilities, so we must make sure we act responsibly about it. Destiny wasn't used a lot, but it definitely completed the speech. When I hear the word destiny, the first thing that comes to my mind is, "My destiny is what I make it, and I must make it right. In order to decide and work towards my destiny, I must do what is expected of me and nothing less." Finally, there's successful. Everyone wants to be successful, the only problem is that sometimes, actually most of the times, it's not that easy. To be successful you must work hard to reach the goals that you must set for yourself, and in order to do that you absolutely can't be lazy, you must stay on top of things.
There are endless challenges of this generation, but I believe that many of these challenges could be resolved if everyone takes small baby steps towards working together to find the solutions. I believe that all the children of the world have the most pressure when it comes to this, for they are the future, and they must make it right! Global warming, the economic crisis, and everything in between, like world peace, poverty, and criminal activity, are all very serious manners that should be looked into more.
President Obama's speech was one of the best he's ever given in my opinion. His thesis was that you should never give up and always give 110% on every school related thing you do.If Benjamin Franklin had not learned how to control electricity, where would we be?If it weren't for Martin Luther King Jr., where would we be?Obama is trying to tell America's youngest generation that without us doing our best in school, we are depleting America, of it's best.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the best words in President Obama's speech is:1.Respect,2.Resposibilty,
and 3.Education.Respect is the most important because if you don't have respect for your peers and the adults trying to help you, how can you learn?Resposiblity is important since responsiblity and respect go hand and hand.To have respect for your educators, you must haave responsiblity for homework and your actions.Education is important because as President Obama said,"I guarantee you can't go anywhere without an education".His words mean a lot to me.
There are so many major challenges in our generation it is hard to choose the most important.Global warming is on my top ten.Global warming may not have a huge impact in our parents lifetime but i will in ours.Econmics is also on my list. Will the econmy get better next year?ten years?fifty? Our generation needs to think about these challenges and others seriously. We may be young, but we will carry a lot of weight on our shoulders soon enough. What Obama is trying to say is that if we work hard in school, we can "hit the ground running" and instead of waiting for disaster to strike, be ready for it.
The thesis of President Obama’s speech was to inform children of the importance of school. Everything students learn in school counts in the rest of their life. He explains that from each subject they learn in school, there is something the children can do to help our country. Obama explains that it’s hard to live now, people pressure children to do things that are inappropriate, or it’s hard because there is not a lot of money. Although as he explains, children cannot drop out of school for these reasons. School is an extremely important part of their life that kids can’t live without. He also explains that children should always ask questions and keep trying, because no one can get something right the first time, they must keep trying. Obama wants kids to do the best things they can for this country and work hard and never give up.
ReplyDeleteThe three most valuable words that President Obama said in the speech were #1.Responsibility, #2.Try, and #3.Serious. These three words were extremely important in the speech. Obama said that children must take responsibility of their actions and their work habits in school. Students must complete all the work they are given and continuously do their best. He also said students must keep trying and never give up. People almost never get anything right the first time, so they try again and fix their mistakes to make it better, and that’s what all children must do. Finally, Obama said that kids must take pride into their work and be serious. Children must learn that it is not always play time, especially with homework at hand. They must be serious to do work well and pass.
The challenges in our generations are quite serious. The biggest challenge right now is global warming. Most of the world is changing from global warming. The icebergs in Antarctica are melting and many polar bears are dying from such heat. There have also been quite a few changes in the seasons from this. There are other challenges such as; a lot of stock market have been dropping. Many adults across the United States are losing their jobs. Many people have also been getting many budget cuts in salaries of working people. Most of all there have been budget cuts in schools. Many schools are losing subjects such as band, gym, etc, which are leaving students upset, and many teachers without a job. These are some of the many challenges people and children are facing today.
On September 8, 2009, President Barack Obama gave an inspiring speech at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. His thesis was education. Throughout his speech, he emphasized the importance of education. He explained to us how rewarding it is to go to school, work hard, and become anything we want to be. By trying our hardest at school each day, we shape our future to become things such as doctors, nurses, lawyers, and architects. You could not become any of these things without a good education. The entire speech was based on education and our responsibility to work hard at school. The President stated "the future of America depends on us and what we do today, can affect what we do in the future." Without a good education, we would lose many job opportunites in the future.
ReplyDeleteEducation, responsibility and opportunity are the three most important words in the speech. These are the three most important words in the speech because our responsibility as students, is to get a good education. With our education, we will have many opportunities at different careers later on in life. If all of us fulfill our responsibilities as students, we can use what we learn in school today to help America later on. To help America, we must face our greatest challenges. I feel that the challenges of my generation are issues such as dropping out of school, global warming, deforestation, clean energy, etc. I feel these are challenges because they affect all of us. In order for our planet to function properly, we must take care of it. By littering and not saving things such as energy, we are wasting useful resources that might not always be renewable. Deforestation plays a role in global warming. Cutting down trees faster than we can grow them is becoming a problem. Trees and other plants provide oxygen that we need to survive. Dropping out of school is also a major challenge that we face. Many students lack motivation and determination to believe that they can succeed in school. Things such as television, computers and video games also distract students from doing things such as their homework or school projects. By having the mentality that they are destined to fail, is what makes our drop out rate as big as it is today. “If you quit on school - you're not just quitting on yourself, you're quitting on your country.” said President Barack Hussein Obama.
The thesis of this speech is that Barack Obama wants the best for all the kids in America. He made a speech at a school and talked about how kids should be in school and studying and trying their best everyday. The point of this speech was to encourage all kids to try their best. There shouldn't be a reason for anyone to give up. Obama gave examples about his and his wife's childhood and how rough it was.
ReplyDeleteBarack Obama's speech was very interesting and and he related it to people our age. The three words I thought were the important are responsibility, government, and standard. Responsibility means to be depended on. I rate this word a 5 out of 5. Government is a system of ruling that helps our country. I rate this word a 4 out of 5. Lastly, the word standard means the minimum requirement. If you want, you can always go above and beyond. No one is stopping you. Standard just means that you need that at least. I rate this word a 5 out of 5.
There are many challenges facing us all. From the econonmy, to school budget cuts. Those two in particular, i think are important. The economy these days isn't so great. Taxes are being raised and everything is costing so much more. Beacuse everything costs so much more, people spend less, which causes the taxes to go up. Another challenge we face is budget cuts. The government is cutting down the amount of money school's get. Beacuse of this effect, school's have to close alot of activities and opportunities for kids to enjoy learning.

ReplyDeleteOn September 8, 2009, President Barack Obama delivered a speech about the importance of staying in school. The thesis of the speech was that students should try their best and not give up on their studies. In order to become successful, students must try their best in school and work hard to earn great grades. Teachers, parents and adults must help us become the best that we can be. In order for them to do that, every student should be willing to try and work hard in school for their future. It is important that students do not drop out of school, no matter how bad the situation seems to be. “Whoever chooses to drop out is not only letting themselves down, they are letting our nation down” said President Obama. Students should study hard to become successful, for every job that they plan to take on will require a proper education.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the three most important words in this speech are failure, responsibility, and goals. In this speech, failure is a powerful word. Barack Obama has said “Some of the most successful people in the world are the ones who've had the most failures”. Failure is not a weakness; it is an educational experience that helps build strength. The next word is responsibility. It is your responsibility to complete your homework. It is your responsibility to make sure you receive an education. The third word that I think is important is goal. It is important that every student sets a goal for themselves and strives greatly to achieve it. Our president Barack Obama struggled in order to receive an education. He didn’t have the best environment around him. His father left when he was young and his mother was trying her best to make a living for them. Barack Obama never gave up and he succeed greatly. Today, we look at him as the president of the United States.
In my generation, I believe there is a great amount of challenges. Our nation depends on us to grow up and make a difference. Some of the great challenges we face today are global warming, recession, and school budget cuts. Schools lose a lot of money, resulting in the cancellation of subjects, programs, and fun activities. Also a lot of people are losing their jobs. This creates an uncomfortable and upsetting environment for kids to live in. This can affect their education. Another problem is global warming. Our environment is suffering greatly. It is very important for students to try their best in school. Our nation is depending on us. We must grow up and make a difference in the world.
I believe that the thesis of the speech is to explain why school is important. It is bad to drop out of school. President Obama explained why school was important and he also stated that children were our country’s future. If we don’t have a good education then our future wouldn’t be so bright. If a child drops out of school then he/she wouldn’t get a good job and that would affect the future of the child and in turn, the future of our country. President Obama said that if you drop out of school, a good job just won’t appear out of nowhere for you. You have to work hard and get an education… not only for your sake, but also for your country’s sake.
ReplyDeleteI think that the three most important words in the speech were: education, responsibility, and achievement. Education is important because with it comes a good job and a good living. Without a good education, you won’t have any of it. You are responsible for getting that good education. You have to stay in school and do well in school no matter what. You can’t have any excuses for failing. Many of us fail… but failing is a very important part of life. If you fail and just stop trying, you won’t achieve anything. You have to learn from your own mistakes and failures. You must keep on trying in order to achieve a goal.
I believe that the challenges of my generation are: economy crisis, wars, climate changes, and diseases. People don’t rely on their true resources and they borrow a lot, then it creates an economical boom without a good financial foundation. A bad economy would lead to more crime, more loses of jobs, and so on. Wars devastate country’s man power, human lives, and financial resources. Global warming has been a big issue lately and if it doesn’t stop, it will have a bad affect of every aspect of human life in the entire world. Many people are dying because of many bad diseases such as cancer, flu, heart disease and so on. It needs to be stopped. People have to start finding cures, or else the worlds population would give in to the possible pandemics.
The thesis of Barack Obama’s speech is that in order to be successful, you have to work and study hard in school. As Barack Obama said, people like us are working hard each and every day, all across America. He also says every one of us has something to offer. It’s our responsibility, to find out what it is. You can’t expect to become a doctor, teacher, or a lawyer without an education. You can’t expect to be successful without hard work. You have to do your homework, pay attention in class, arrive on school in time, study for tests, or even do some volunteer work. If nobody does plans on doing any of this, not only will you be quitting on yourself, you’re also quitting on the country. Whatever you’re planning to do, you have to commit to it. Not just start something, and let it go by.
ReplyDeleteThree words that I find the most important in order are 1) school, 2) responsibility and 3) education. I chose these words because I feel that they are the most meaningful and important. In general, school is always number one. Responsibility is something everyone should have, and getting and education is just as necessary.
I believe the challenges of our generation at the moment are budget cuts in school, and global warming. Because of school budget cuts, school can’t offer as much as it used to before. For example, in Cunningham CIG, we used to have zero period in the morning. Now, because of budget cuts, we don’t have it anymore. Instead, now we have an extra math period during the day. That takes away from another subject, let’s say, art or music. Global warming is when the Earth heats up. This can hurt people, along with animals and plants. Many can’t take the change. As you can see, these are some major challenges our generation is facing right now.

ReplyDeleteThe thesis of this speech is to persuade kids of all ages to stay in school. Barack Obama wants every kid in America to try to get straight A’s, work hard in school, and to not drop out. By doing this we can change the world. If there are more people working as scientists or mathematicians we may go far with technology and science. We will create new jobs and boost the economy.
ReplyDeleteThere are dozens of important words that Barack Obama used in his persuasive speech such as “trying”. He stresses over and over that he wants us; the kids of the future, to know that trying will get you far even when you don’t succeed right away. The second most important word is “education”. Barack Obama wants all kids to get a good education because no job is possible without one. One last word that is important is “future”. Barack Obama wants kids and teens to have a bright and beautiful future which can only be done with a good education.
There are a few challenges of my generation. I believe the biggest problem is drug and alcohol abuse by teens. Teens from ages of thirteen and older are starting to take drugs and drink alcohol. Some causes for these actions are abusive parents, depression, or low self esteem. Taking drugs or drinking alcohol can have a serious effect on the lives of these children such as school failure, violence, or even suicide. This is a very dangerous topic which can be fixed if we all try.
The thesis of this speech is that education is very important. And how, if you want to invent something, be a writer etc. Your not going to be able to do it without doing good in school or a project you're given. The future of the United States depends on us and it won't turn out good if we don't have a proper education. No great leader would be anything without a proper education like Abraham Lincoln or Martin Luther King Jr. Obama is saying that without us and our education. The United States would be nothing. I think the three most important words in Obama's speech were: responsibility, respect and education. If your not responsible and always forget to do your homework or any important assignment. You're not going to remember or learn anything. You have to respect your teachers and peers because without them you're not going to learn much in school. Education is important because "You cannot just drop out of school and drop into a new job". All good jobs require a proper education. There are many major challenges in our generation. One of the most important is global warming. This may not have a huge effect on us now but if we don't try to stop it now were really going to regret it later. Next is the economic crisis. This has caused the Department of Education to have to cancel things like art and music in many schools. We seriously need to think about the problems and fix them so the world will be a better place. If we don't what will happen? Hopefully Obama can help guide us through this. And educations will come in handy.
ReplyDeleteI believe the thesis of President Obama's speech is that to be successful in life and everthing that you do, you must want it and work hard for it. For many dreams in life, it will be hard to accomplish, and by not quitting in the middle, while things get tough, because it will never get you anywhere. Even to be a successful lawyer, doctor, or surgeon, you must go to school, and learn everything that you can about the job you hope to have. Even if you pass medical or law school, you do not become successful right away. at the beginning, you might have to work more hours, or do small things, but in the long run you will achieve your goal.
ReplyDeleteThe three most important words I believe that were in President Obama's speech were 1)Resposibility,2)Education, and 3)Inspiring. these words are important because responsibility is being able to take care of yourself, not always depending on other people.Education is the base of everything, and without education life would be chaos. the final word inspiring is also important, because without some kind of motivation that keeps you going, it would be difficult to work hard, and keep at it.
I believe the most difficult challenges facing this generation are lack of education, a lsck of inspirtion, and too much leziures. By this generation having a larger population, it will be harder for students to try to get into good schools, since there might be many applicants, and with a little chance of getting in the students may slack off, untill they decide to drop out of school. inspiration is also a key in life, and without it people do not have something that keeps the motivated to do something and keep doing it. In this technological generation, there are many ways in which a student can get lost in computers or games, and lose track of time not completing their homework. These topics are important they should be adressed right away.
In the speech that Barack Obama gave, on the topic of education, he was talking about one’s success and responsibilities in life. The thesis of the speech is that you have to set goals for your education and try to fulfill them. You have to believe in yourself and discover your talents. You have to study hard and you will succeed. Obama said “When you fail, it doesn’t mean that you are stupid, it just means that you have to try harder.” You have to put an effort into everything you do and believe in yourself. The three most important words in Barack Obama speech are:
ReplyDelete1) Responsibilities
2) Success
3) Education
I ranked these words in the order that they are, because the main point that Barack Obama was making is that you have many responsibilities in your life. Most important of all in order to succeed you need to get good education.
I believe that one of the challenges of my generation is the economy. Many people in the USA are losing jobs and that is causing tragedy all over, just because the companies do not have enough money to pay for their hard work. I think that this is very bad and that is the one of the biggest challenge of my generation. I also believe that how there has been many incidents where people have kidnapped young children for money is also a very big challenge of this generation. There has been many times when I came home from school, and my mom asked me if I heard of what happened ________. I think it is just terrible that people would kidnap and/or hold hostage innocent kids all over the US for money. Some people might say "Its life", but I think it is very wrong.
The thesis of Barrack Obama’s speech is to persuade kids to stay in school, work hard and never give up. In this speech, Barrack Obama explains that he knows that school is hard and that he understands that school is hard for some of us. He knew that because school was tough for Barrack Obama when he was little. His dad left him when he was 2 years old. This made him lonely and he stopped focusing in school. This made him do many mistakes which he wasn’t proud of but, got second chances and was able to go to law school. Barrack Obama also talked about how parents, teachers, and adults have a responsibility to assist us when we need help but at a cost of being responsible to study and do our best.
ReplyDeleteI believe the three most important words in the speech are responsibility, education, and dedication. I chose these words because 1. You have to be responsible enough to study, do your homework, etc. If the student doesn’t do that, how is he supposed to survive the real world? 2. You always have to have a good education in order to get a good job like a doctor, lawyer, or a scientist. If you don’t get a good education you would get a job like a delivery boy or a janitor. 3. You have to be dedicated into school and have goals for school that you want to work hard on and succeed.
One challenge that we face right now is obesity. This is happening because kids are starting to stop doing their homework and “glue their eyes” onto the computer monitor and television screen. Aside from that, fast food joints like Mc. Donalds and Dunkin Donuts keep on building stores next or close to schools. This attracts kids to their doors like a magnet. This results in more than the daily amount of fats and calories being consumed. With the combination of no exercise and lots of calories being consumed, kids are starting to gain weight and can’t lose it. This is what I think is the largest challenge for our generation in my opinion.
The thesis of this speech was to convince teens not to drop out of school. There are a lot of kids and teens these days dropping out of school, cutting classes, and not caring. This is hurting not only them, but also the country. The more people drop out of school, and don’t get a proper education, the more homeless, jobless people there are. Imagine we all drop out of school. Who will be discovering new cures for diseases? Who will be working for the government? Even though its “just one person” every single one of us counts.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the three most important words in the speech are 1) education 2) responsibility 3) determination. Education was the most important word in the speech. The speech was about education. Education determines the outcome of our life. The people getting a good education get into good colleges, and afterwards get good jobs. President Obama said, “You can’t just drop out of school and drop into a good job.” We have to work for it. Nothing will come to us just like that. We need a good education to know things too. Most of the knowledge you have came from school. Even though it may seem pointless, and some may say “they don’t even teach us anything. Think again.
The second word that I think s most important in President Obama’s speech is responsibility. No matter where we come from and what our surroundings are, WE are the ones responsible for learning. We are the ones responsible to make sure we don’t drop out of school, listen to the teachers, and pay attention in class. We are born as our own person. We have to achieve things on our own. There may be people who will help us, but overall, we are on our own. It’s up to us what life we are going to have. We are the ones that can make our dreams come true.
The last word that I think is most important in this speech is determination. With determination, we can achieve great things. The quote “if you believe it, you can achieve it” applies to every single one of us. If we really want something, if we are willing to work hard to achieve what we want in this life, we need to be determined. If we believe we CAN achieve. In order to get somewhere, you need to want it.
For the Future
ReplyDeleteSchool is an important part of your life. Without education there will be no future. Our President Barack Obama made a back-to-school speech in Wakefield High School (Arlington, Virginia). He urged students to work hard, stay in school, and always reach their goals in life. If we don’t go to school we will never reach our goals in life. If we don’t succeed in our goals we are not only letting ourselves down but we are also letting our country down.
From my opinion the most important words in our President Barack Obama’s speech were the following: responsibility, education, and goals. The most powerful word would be responsibility. You must take responsibility for all your actions. Also you are responsible to go to school and learn. Another important word is education. No matter what you want to do in your life you need a proper education. You can’t get any descent job without completed school education. You do it not only for your self, but for future of our country. The third meaningful word is goal. You always need a goal and you always must strive for it. Even if the path isn’t easy you must set a goal and reach it. Barack Obama had said-“There are no excuses for not trying”.
Our generation is facing many challenges. We need to find how to cure cancers, develop new energy technologies, protect our environment, save our planet from global warming, fight crimes, create new jobs, and boost our economy. We wouldn’t be here today if the people who made amazing discoveries before us didn’t go to school. We also have to follow their paths and try to strive even higher. Our country needs people who work hard to fight for anything they believe in and never giving up while at it. Life will never be easy and fighting through is the goal. Long ago people sacrificed their lives for us, to make a better future. Well we need to do the same for the next generation. If we just sit around by the computer all day or play video games we will never be able to get our homework done, strive for the best, and help the next generation. We want the next generation to say “Thanks to that person….”
